So, it was day 2 of the tour. In my opinion, the first real day of the trip, since before that we had only had the presentation. I woke up at 4am, had a fast shower, packed everything in a rush and head downstairs. The truck, that later would be known as the white elephant, was already there waiting for us. We all sat with the people we had shared the room with, in my case, Sh. At 4.30 we were all on board except for one couple of Americans, J and T, which unfortunately were a bit late. Most…
Today I present you… Cochem am der Mosel! This little town is located in the district of Rhineland-Palatinate. This is in the west half of Germany and relatively close of Luxembourg and Belgium. Cochem is a TINY town, destination of plenty of national tourism but rarely visited by foreigners. Even though its size, it is possible to get there by train from any nearby city (Cologne, Koblenz, even Heidelberg). Yes, the German train network is quite impressive. I discovered this little beauty thanks to a castle, abbeys, palaces and so, guide that I borrowed from a coworker (“Time to Travel…
Travel Journal – Explore Southern Africa with Intrepid Travel- Day 01 After all the stress making the decision and booking everything, in no time, the day to leave had arrived. Many months of not having proper holidays had passed, and now, the day was finally there! Back then, it was Thursday and since my flight was departing at 8.30pm, I went to work. Initially, my plan was to leave work at 5pm, go home to pick up my backpack and then go to the airport. Usually, I prefer to arrive to the airport with plenty of time so, a couple…
Traveling solo is one of the most fulfilling experiences you can have. You will enjoy places from a unique perspective while traveling at your own pace. In addition, you can visit specific places that may only be interesting to you. Or maybe, you will decide to go the same places that everybody else go but a specific time of the day. Independently of your style of solo traveling, going on your own sometimes comes with a small dose of loneliness. If you are very independent you may be ok. As I usually am. But, in occasions, it is nice to…
As a solo traveler, I usually try to organize my own trips. I like the freedom to follow my own pace and visit what is more interesting to me. That, some times does not alignt with the plans that most people would do, but it fits me perfectly. Unfortunately, also because I am a solo traveler. And specifically a female solo traveler. There are some destinations that I still have not dared doing on my own. For this situation, I decided to try, for the first time, an organized trip. I certainly did not want to feel like sheep been…
A while back, when I was traveling through Europe in an interrail trip, I visited Mainau. I do not even remember how I found this place or who recommended it to me, but it was one of the nicest places I visited during that trip. Because I wanted to share that experience with you, here you have a guide, and some tips, for whenever you decide to visit Mainau. Because you definitely should. To visit Mainau: Where is it and how to get there? Mainau is on an island in lake Konstanz or Constance. Depending on whether you mention it…
A few years ago, far more than I am willing to accept, I spent a summer in Tunisia. I was a student and part of an organization that was a branch of a global entity. Besides many other benefits, the one holding the highest appealing to my 20-year-old was a month of cultural exchange. Or what is the same: I would go to a country for a month while someone else would come to mine. I have previously shared with you some of the places I visited while there, while I have never before spoken of Bizerte. For example, there…
Last year I spent my first Pride weekend in Amsterdam. It was amazing, from the Drag Queen Olympics, to the boat parade. It was all fantastic. Parties everywhere, sun, love and an amazing vibe all throughout the weekend. If you want to know more about Pride weekend, where to go and that to do, keep on reading. What is Pride week(end) in the old A’dam Although in many locations across the globe the LGTB community celebrate Pride during a weekend, Amsterdammers go a step forward and have a 10 day event going on. Let’s be honest, if Dutchies know about…

When I visited Thailand a while ago there was something I really wanted to do. That was to spend a night in these overnight cabins floating in the middle of a beautiful lake in the forest. I did not know where this was exactly, but I had to try it. After doing some research and reading most of my Lonely Planet, I found out! These were floating cabins in Khao Sok! I will tell you a bit more about these and about the best Khao Sok National Park tours! Where is Khao Sok National Park and how to get there…
